LAUSD AUDIT UNDERWAY

LAUSD AUDIT UNDERWAY

On Tuesday, 5/22/97 the State Legislature’s Jt. Audit Committee,
controlled by Democrats, voted 10 – 1 to Audit the Los Angeles Unified
School District, the $4.5 billion dollar budget monster in S.
California.  some 650,000 students, 60,000 teachers and support
personnel.  Private, secured phones, faxes, are being set up in the
state auditor’s desk, as you read this.  A non-profit group known as
AAEE (Association for Accountability and Excellence in Education) is
now in full force.  If you have documents of any type, or you wish a
platform upon which to stand and share what you know about this
district, contact AAEE at the following number :  Phone
818-896-7146/Fax 818-896-9697…….  If you want documentation, send
a small check to cover printing  and materials, and we can send you
all kinds of documentation.  << Oh, the audit is authorized re: abuse
of special education funds, and retribution by the district, against
whistleblowers/watchdogs >>.

Proofreading of English-language journals within academia: career inquiry.

Greetings All,

I am a US national looking for a full-time job as a
proofreader, perhaps of English-language journals,
within academia.  Does anyone have suggestions
as to how to proceed?

I know little of where to find the actual work rather than
the mere hope of it.

With my compliments,

Patricia Sclater.

Opportunities in Sweden?

I’m will be studying for CELTA this Summer before hopefully finding a job in Scandinavia
(preferably Sweden – I speak fluent Swedish).  Is there anyone out there who can give me
some ideas on who to contact, job opportunities etc.?  I spent some time at a Swedish
Folk High School during my year abroad during my degree course and would love to work in
a similarly informal institution.  Thanks.

Please reply to email not to newsgroup.

JapanesexEnglish Translation

Friends,

Pardon me if this is a wrong place to put a notice of this kind, but I’m
trying to find a place to advertise my skill in general between Japanese
and English.Concurrently I’m teaching the art of translation to
professional translation out here in Tokyo. If some of you,
Japanese-speaking/understanding foreigners, should wish to upgrade your
Japanese, I can perhaps offer my services via e-mail.

Do feel free to drop me a line to ask for further info.
