After 30 years of coeducational secondary and postsecondary teaching in
Canada, I am returning to the UK and wish to find a position in private
education (preferably sixth-form German and/or English) in a relatively
traditional school. I am British-born, educated, and trained. Would you be
interested in my CV? Please check my HTML resume at

Spelling "scalefactor" or "scale factor"?
What is the proper spelling, scalefactor or scale factor? Most
dictionaries do not have an entry for "scalefactor" but it also doesn’t
seem right to spell it as "scale factor". The spelling as "scale
factor" implies that the word "scale" is modifing the noun "factor".
However, in math all factors are "scaling" factors, i.e. there is no
other type of factor, so why add an adjective to the noun "factor"?
Bottom line; if scale factor is the correct spelling, why is it two
words instead of only one?
