Re: Need Your Help in Career Choice!!!!
It’s a difficult question to answer without knowing which state you are from.
In California, there are many, many more opportunities for elementary teachers
than there are for ESL. Some districts just throw the ESL students in with the
rest, others are in bilingual ed. classrooms (for how much longer nobody
knows!), and some districts do have elementary ESL classrooms, but those are
probably the exceptions.
In my state it is no longer possible to get a credential to teach ESL. This
doesn’t mean that there aren’t ESL teachers, but the credential is in something
else. For secondary, it is often in English. For elementary, it is a multiple
subjects credential. However, it is just as likely at the secondary level that
the ESL teacher has no/little training in teaching ESL.
My advice: Go the regular elementary route. It’s possible you could end up
teaching ESL anyways, but you will have so many more options available.

Hi to all,
my daughter ask me the meaning of the expression:
"if you are not asking for it, you are asking for it".
My knowledge in english is limited… Does this expression exist or
not ? If yes, what is its meaning ???

looking for English audio files
Hi!
I’ve been studing English for many years. I read, write and speak enough
well, but my understanding of english-speaking people is not enough clear.
Sometimes I have to ask them to repeat something or use less complex
sentences. Currently I have no speaking practice.
I’d like to listen to good English while I’m home to improve my
understanding. Does anybody know some places in the Internet where I can
found and download audio files for listening? If you know how to get such
files with attached texts – it will the best advice!
Your assistance will be greatly appreciated.
Virtuall yours, Dmitry
