How Do You Pronounce "Neighborhood"?

I have a question to NBC’s "Today" viewers:

Before weather forcast from local stations, Al Roker says

"That’s what’s going on around the country. Here’s what’s happenning
in your neighborhood."

Here’s my question:

Is he really saying "neighborhood"? His pronunciation sounds a little
strange to me. Or that’s the way the word is pronounced in some part
of the country?

Thanks.

    It’s strange because that’s not what he’s saying.  He’s
saying…"Here’s what’s happening in ‘your neck of the woods’."  Which
means, the region or area or ‘neighborhood’ of USA.  I can see how you
made the mistake because he talks pretty fast.

Hope that helps and check if you can hear it the next time you watch
    him.

    Cheers,
    Tommie

I pronounce the word as follows:  "NAY ber hood."  I have not noticed
Roker’s pronunciation, so apparently it didn’t sound strange to me.
However, I’ll tune in on Monday and pay close attention.

"Sto" in Slovak, (and I suspect most Slavic languages use this word for
    100).
