English is not my native language

Hi all,

I have developed a new (little) site.
I have no intensions for using images or other fancy stuff.

This means that the visitors rely on the available text.

Because English isn’t my native language, I’m looking for some people
who can proofread my pages?

The URL is: http://www.verheyen15.yucom.be

Most important pages are:

http://www.verheyen15.yucom.be/Default.htm
http://www.verheyen15.yucom.be/about.html
http://www.verheyen15.yucom.be/plinks.html
http://www.verheyen15.yucom.be/mecur.html
http://www.verheyen15.yucom.be/mestry.html

All comments and suggestions are welcome!

Thanks

Roel

blue skies

I recently had a conversation with a consultant who used rather a lot of
jargon.  I wasn’t in a position to ask him to clarify himself, and so would
be grateful for any help.  Would anyone be kind enough to translate the
following into English?

blue skies
driver – as in "it’s the primary driver"
no brainer
sanity check
hygiene check
trail blazing

I also have some other terms if anyone’s particularly interested.

This is either the worst or the best newsgroup for me to try – so I
apologise in advance if anyone thinks this mailing is inappropriate.

Looking for poem about Engl. pronounciation

During my schooldays in Germany we had to learn an English poem about
pronounciation starting as follows:
"Dearest creature in creation
studying English pronounciation
I will teach you in my verse
Sounds like corpse, corps, horse, and worse.
…"

Does anybody know the full version of this poem???
(I think, the title was "Chaos" ?!?)
Any hint welcome!!!

SR<> I wonder if calling someone a "Drongo" is an insult because it
 mean
SR<> someone who lives in an alley or similar… ???

It’s interesting to know about the lane dweller.

SR<> Or maybe just a name culled from birdland… like the Aussies
 call
SR<> someone a Galah…  there is a Spangled Drongo…
snip

We Okkers use (used to use) drongo to mean someone pretty thick but
not objectionable.  A galah is an irritating dill like a pollie.
Galahs are gaudy while drongos tend to be dowdy and gullible.

Regards,
John.

Who can read my paper ?

Hi !
I have written a really boring paper in physics on the subject
of Rutherford Scattering (RS) in english. Now I wonder how can I find some
naive person who is willing to read it and who can point out the errors ?
The topic of  (RS) is good enough so I only need help with the english.
It is some 10-15 pages with text in font size 12.
Best regards,
Mr Rutherford :-)
